The refuge is left back by the park of the Parral, with its enormous and centennial trees, to three hundred meters, the beautiful door of the Hospital del Rey, today recovered for the University of Burgos, takes step to the hermitage of San Amaro that surprises by its simplicity.
The old highway of Valladolid is the way and like a 1,500 meters, after passing below the railroad, the pilgrim arrives at a crossing that exactly to the left leaves a restaurant. The little road must be taken to the right, leaving the main highway and to the left the skeleton of one old factory of silk, will be the reference that indicates the good way. A dirt road between fields, leads to the following locality: Villalbilla.
Those that follows the way, does not need to enter Villalbilla, the dirt road ends at the National highway 120, that is taken until the locality of Tardajos. After crossing its small urban nucleus, is reached Rabé de las Calazadas.
After Rabé begins the ascent to the first bleak plateau and after two kilometers is the source of "Prao Torre" with banks and tables that invite to rest. It is practically walked in straight line and when finalizing the raised ground descends towards the valley, descrying already to the bottom the population of Hornillos del Camino.
