The pilgrim leaves Leon following the nailed bronze shells in the ground, from the same Cathedral, immediately it crosses the River Bernesga and follows the avenue of Quevedo in the direction of Trobajo del Camino. This locality more than a town, is today a district of Leon, and it is crossed by one long avenue. It is not very well signaled, but a pedestrian step that rises on the channels of the train indicates to the traveling that it is in the good way.
A kilometer after the way turns to the left, whereas the arrow indicates to the right. By the street of la Cruz the pilgrim ascends to the top of a hill, from where the route runs parallel to N-120, but by the back of an industrial estate. And thus it is arrived at the Virgen del Camino.
Just when coming out from the Sanctuary and to the left of the highway a dirt road is taken and immediately the pilgrim will have to make a decision: either to go towards Villar de Mazarife or to continue straight to Villadangos del Páramo. We, initially, have decided to take this last route, but shortly we will develop all the alternatives that the way offers.
From the locality of the Virgen del Camino to Villadangos it is a long desert of about 14 kilometers, with the towns of Valverde de la Virgen and San Miguel del Camino.
