FRANÇAIS DEUTSCH ITALIANO

Paisaje de la comarca de Portomarín.
The pilgrim leaves Samos by the highway that it will lead until Teiguin, where the traveller takes a track to the right, after passing by the small localities of Pasáis and Perros and to few kilometres of Sarria, the way is united to the variant that comes from Triacastela by San Xil.

The refuge of pilgrims is in the high part of the city, where the oldest zone is grouped. One arrives with facility, following the yellow arrows that takes by downtown, leaving to the right the hotel Alfonso IX, crossing the bridge on the Sarria river and to raise finally outside staircase, already in the old inner city.

At the exit the pilgrim descends smoothly by its streets until crossing the channel of the train and next the Way submerges in a forest of, oaks, pines and all luck of shrubs that make the delights of the traveller. This pleasant stroll, finalizes in a highway shortly before arriving at Barbadelo, by which it is continued until the following population: Rente.

Six kilometres separates Rente of Brea, always towards the west using all class of ways and short cuts that interlace. Some sections are asphalted, others, like typical corredoiras (little roads), they are saved jumping in the stone to avoid the water obstacles, as it happens between Peruscallo and Cotiñas, two of the many tiny and small villages that are in almost all the Galician route.

Nothing else to cross Brea is the landmark of kilometre 100 and right after an isolated small village it appears a small chapel of stone, where the pilgrims usually leave some warnings and messages.

The exit of Ferreiros is a reduction by the asphalt, in whose end it is the modest church and cemetery. By highway alternating with short cuts and corredoiras it is continued towards Vilachá, before we will pass by cattle property or mini villages, without no type of service like: Rozas, Mercadoiro and Parrocha, among others. In many of them still can be seen the typical hórreos, of rectangular plant and wood walls that serve to protect the maize of humidity.

Vilachá that is to about two kilometres of Portomarín is a village somewhat greater than the previous ones, but that also lacks all service. Nothing else to cross it and after walking awhile by cleared land begins a strong reduction that takes us to the dam of Belesar. The modern population of Portomarín, since the old one rests under waters of the marsh, is reached after cross the river Miño by a well built bridge.
