  Ermita de Santa Irene
Today is the day. It is a day of nerves, but also of calm peace. The pilgrim feels that it has Santiago within reach and, although is a stage of enough kilometres, becomes, possibly, but it releases of the Way. The land is almost one traces of the previous stage, the constant: they are raised and lowered between small villages and small villages that distract the traveller. In order to reach Salceda, that is the first village that is with some service, we will have to surpass 11 km, passing before and in the first place by the small village of Pegontuño, in whose point N-547 by a tunnel under the same one is crossed and, later, by those of Calzada, Calle and Boavista, that also are very small populations without services. From Salceda the highway is the reference, since the Way, winding with her, pass by the small villages of Ras and Brea to arrive at the stop of Santa Irene and to descend next to the small village of the same name. To half an hour more of way are the population centres of Rúa and Pedrouzo, where is the refuge of Arca, call thus by the name of the Parish that covers this zone, is arrived at him following by the border of the highway. To retake the Way from the refuge of Arca, represents to back down a little to the powerboat or to follow by the highway to a small crossing that goes to the small village of San Antón. There is no loss well is signalised in both cases. Tracks and corredoiras (little roads) between leafy forests of eucalyptuses, passing by the villages of Cimadevilla and San Paio, take to Labacolla, from whose population the Airport of Santiago takes the name, that is very next, as therefore it testifies the noises of the airplanes. Six kilometres of ascent, passing through the small population of San Marcos, are those that reduce to arrive at Monte do Gozo. They are not indeed very pleasant, since good part of the section is necessary to do it by asphalt, but the security of which in a moment we are going to see the needles of the Cathedral of Santiago (if the weather allows it), fully replaces the last shortages of the pilgrim.
